Are you looking to create some boundaries in your life?

Boundaries
can be challenging and the ability to shift your perspective or anyone else's even more so. Boundaries are about what is best for you and your life at this moment, with the people you surround yourself with. Boundaries are a way to take care of yourself and your own mental health regularly. We can not always avoid people that are considered toxic or not good for us, but you can establish a way to not allow them to penetrate your spirit or your mental health.
In understanding how to establish boundaries in your life, certain steps are necessary.

1. Boundaries: Learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy boundaries. Figure out what is acceptable to you and not acceptable.
2. Responsibility: Accept what is the standard you hold yourself accountable, you are not responsible for other reactions, behaviors or emotions. But you are accountable for your own, or how you treat others in regards to creating hurt or harm through your behaviors.
3. Authenticity: By learning who you are, what you want in your life, and the people you surround yourself with shift what boundaries you will create to attain your goals and the life you choose to live. Therefore, by not allowing anyone to create the person you don't align with in your heart.
4. Values: By getting clear with your own values in your life, you will have a better understanding of why you need to set boundaries. You have a hierarchy of  the things that are most important to you, and what you will not tolerate.
5. Ego: Don't let you ego over rule the truth. Sometimes we will enable others and create excuses to make life easier. We take on a role of entitlement and blame. Own your feelings, lean in to it with acceptance and self love. Understand your true intentions then learn to empower others and set your Boundaries around your own life and your own self care.

Expectation + Action = the creation of your life experiences.

This is part of the Brave principle, live your life with intentions, show up and be seen. This is your life and you get to decide what is right for you, and you only. Do no harm to others with your choices. You can have boundaries, and empower others. This does not mean you need to delete all toxic people from your life, it means you can limit how their behaviors affect you. Take back your power and live freely.

For more information on how to be BRAVE, their is both an online workshop or an in class workshop available. Send me a message for more details. mihands@msn.com

Healing Touch

Everyone needs human touch, a form of love and connection in a positive way.   The power of touch is incredible for releasing your body's natural endorphin's, which is responsible for the "feel good" sensation in your body.  It creates a pleasure sensation causing you to relax and deal with the stress of your daily life easier and just enjoy and be present in the moment.   Oxytocin is also released through massage therapy or any other physical touch such as a hug, it is responsible for the feeling of peace and trust.  Any one can massage, and any one can hug, but feeling a connection with someone is very different.  Seek a massage therapist that is willing to listen and care for you.

Why Massage?

Massage Therapy is a great rehabilitation or muscle maintenance treatment.  Massage Therapy helps to realign muscle fibers that are tightened,  strained, over worked and  not functioning properly.   Massage helps to increase circulation, allowing more blood flow the all areas of the body which promotes a quicker healing time, lymphatic drainage helps decrease toxin build up with in the muscles which also helps prevent muscle fatigue.  Massage also increases range of motion within the joints.   All of theses benefits of massage work together to keep our bodies working properly.   Proper body maintenance and body mechanics are important for posture.    We only have one body..... keep it working, keep it moving.... keep it healthy.   Healthy Body.... Healthy Mind.
Your massage therapist will work with you to design a treatment or maintenance plan suitable for your needs.

Preventative Massage Therapy

When starting a massage therapy program you may need to go consistently for a short period of time to have your injuries heal or promote better health.  If you start massage due to injury  2-3 times a week is common to heal injuries quicker.... once you are considered to be on the mend and your muscles are starting to feel better once a week.... to biweekly is recommended. Finally the goal of preventative massage is once a month to maintain range of motion of joints, increase circulation and decrease restrictions of muscles.   Preventative massage is great to promote healing on a regular basis.  Injuries will heal quicker and won't last as long.

Check with your massage therapist about a good preventative schedule.... as although once a month may be recommended, some clients find they feel better with massage biweekly, this schedule will also be based on your affordability as well.  You are in control of your schedule so how often you go is still your choice.  Remember without proper maintenance of any exercise, rehabilitation and/ or massage therapy it will feel like you are starting over, and never getting better.

Re-habilitation

Despite the fact we all want answers to our pain and we want them "fixed" right away... the real answer is sometimes healing is time and change.  Strains, sprains, tendonitis.... are all time injuries.   There is massage and physiotherapy techniques and exercises plus home care that can speed up the healing process. For the most part a basic outline of a treatment plan can be suggested by your healthcare and follow up assessments are done.  I don't believe it is ethical for any healthcare to talk you into a purchasing of excess treatments.  Most healthcare professionals can estimate progress within 3 months... but a fair re-assessment should be done at that time, as clients may heal quicker or decline in progress between those times.  My suggestion is when prepurchasing a package deal make it reasonable and affordable .... remember Life changes every 60 seconds.... so does your health.
In order to take care of your health.... you need to be more aware of your posture and triggers that affect your health.   Healthcare professionals assist you in feeling better... but remember you are in control of  taking care of you!

Ask a question about Massage......

Massage Therapy is a form of healing that has been around for centuries... more and more medical doctors are realizing just how well it works.  Touch and healing techniques are a part of our everyday life we still try to understand why massage works so well....  Massage therapy combines touch therapy with a combination of release techniques, and just the right amount of pressure creating an overall relaxation effect while improving circulation, lymphatic drainage and proper muscle balance.
